Navigating Health Insurance
We understand that accessing therapy is an investment in your well-being, and we're committed to making that process as supportive and transparent as possible. We believe in empowering our clients with the knowledge to make the therapy journey less about insurance complexities and more about their mental well-being. At Empower Well you can expect support as we assist you with understanding the insurance and payment process.
Understanding Your Insurance: What to Know
We’re here to support you in navigating the ins and outs of your insurance coverage, but there are a few important things to keep in mind as you get started:
-
Any coverage information we provide is based on preliminary details and is meant to help you get a general idea of your benefits. The final determination of what is covered—and what your out-of-pocket costs may be—will be made by your insurance provider once your claims are processed.
-
We strongly encourage you to reach out to your insurance company directly. Speaking with them can help you understand what’s covered, what your deductible or co-pay may be, and whether any co-insurance applies. This step can give you peace of mind and help you plan for your care.
-
While we can’t guarantee how your insurance will process claims, we’re more than happy to support you through the process—whether that means answering your questions, helping you understand your superbill, or guiding you toward the right next steps.
What can you do:
Verify Your Coverage:
Call the number on the back of your insurance card to ask about your mental health benefits, including in-network vs. out-of-network coverage, co-pays, and deductibles.
Keep Us in the Loop:
If your insurance changes, let us know as soon as possible so we can make sure your services aren’t disrupted.
Reach Out With Questions:
We’re here to support you—not just in therapy, but in making the entire process as stress-free as possible.
At Empower Well, your experience matters. We’re committed to providing not only high-quality care but also clarity, communication, and compassion every step of the way.
Good Faith Estimate Notice
Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers and health care facilities are required to provide a good faith estimate of expected charges for items and services to individuals who are not enrolled in a plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage both orally and in writing, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at
least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
